On behalf of my mother and I, thank you very much for not only rescuing our tour of Spain, but for putting together a trip that more than met and exceeded our needs and expectations.
Five weeks before my 85 year old mother and I were to embark on our Spanish tour I learned our tour company was bankrupt. Luckily a friend provided Tailormade's contact info along with a glowing recommendation. Sam took our old itinerary and promised to attempt to put something together while warning that, being high season in Spain, options may be limited. Sam was, on very short notice, not only able to recreate our trip but make some excellent suggestions to improve upon it.
The hotels recommended were great, the suggested tours were perfect, the tour guides were spectacular. And the pace of the trip was ideal for us; just the right amount of activity with enough 'free time' to relax and just enjoy being in Spain. It was a treat to have the itinerary laid out so well, and for it all come together like clockwork.
I feel one of the reasons out trip worked out so well is because we used the services of a firm based in Spain. Every hotel, restaurant, guide and driver treated us very well and I think it is because they all like working with Tailormade.
Thanks again!

Our family trip to Spain was very memorable. Sam and his team were top notch and provided us with everything that we needed from hotels to transportation to specialized guides for all the things that we were interested in seeing and experiencing. They put such a personal touch on every step of the way. Each day they had us dialed in for exclusive experiences; and the tickets were Pre-paid so that we were able to go right into some of the worlds greatest attractions like last sagrada Familia and the Picasso museum. Additionally Sam’s assistant Rocio was most helpful. She was only a phone call away the whole time and had our backs in anything that we needed, including a last minute massage.
From the very first phone call I could tell that Sam was a very special man. He interviewed me and took to heart all the things that I had requested for my family to experience in our trip to Spain. Every detail was covered and he truly has a gift for taking what’s in your heart for traveling and turning it into reality. All of the guides along the way that he had hired and set up were spectacular. They were totally professional and experts in many types of languages, historical references, and local traditions.
We had the opportunity to see five different cities in Spain within the span of 13 days. We went to Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Rhonda, and Seville. In each city there were special touches and awesome opportunities to see the best of what they had to offer. Sam‘s team even provided us with a book of suggestions for things to do, restaurants, and local hotspots. Additionally all of the transportation was included. On the first day we arrived on our trip to Spain, we were given a packet with all of the information we needed. In the packet we received tickets for train and air travel, a book that laid out each day of our trip in detail, and they even included some special gifts handcrafted by local artisans.
This was the most thorough, reasonable, worry free, informational, and smooth traveling experience that I have ever had. Thanks to Sam and his team we fell in love with Spain and we can’t wait to come back.

Sam, Rocio and the Tailormade Andalucia team provided an excellent service.
They guided us very sensibly in terms of our 3 week itinerary - at the right pace and with a great mix of experiences, including local guides now and then. Our accommodation was of a very high standard... and when things weren't quite perfect they intervened to make sure things were.
They were absolutely committed to making sure we had a great trip and nothing was too much trouble. So thanks again Sam and Rocio! We loved Spain and we will be back!

James and Rocio organised an excellent holiday for us, visiting Seville, Cordoba, the famous ‘white villages’ of Andalusia, El Rocio, the Doñana National Park, Cadiz and Madrid. Hotels, transport, and cultural events were all well organised and everything worked according to plan.
Rocio was available throughout the course of the holiday, and made some helpful suggestions. The holiday was great value for money. Tailor Made Andalucia delivered exactly as they’d promised.
We’d happily recommend their services, and would readily use them again ourselves. Thanks James and Rocio.

James and Rocio were always on top of everything. Tour was well thought out and we had a great time. Andalusia Region is so beautiful, we will be back for sure.
Local hotels and guides were also amazing, we couldn't ask for more.
Highly recommend this trip and also its crew.

Hello Sam,
I apologise that it has taken me so long to get back to you. I was rushed off my feet after getting back from the US and am now in Singapore! Anyway, here goes:
“This was our second holiday in Andalucia in as many years, and once again Sam and the Tailormade Andalucia team arranged an absolutely fantastic time for us. The first few days were spent in a luxurious and idyllic retreat, where we could just wind down and relax close to nature in the Ronda hills. We had really wanted to delve more deeply into the fascinating culture and traditions of the region, so when we moved on from Ronda we contrasted the peacefulness of the hillsides with an exciting few days in Seville. We made the most of what the City has to offer and the TA team were able to arrange for us to enjoy plenty of “authentic” cultural experiences, away from the well-trodden tourist path. It was an unforgettable holiday and we are already looking forward to going back again soon. Thanks go to Sam and the team for making our holiday even better than we could have wished for. Mark Gregory”
I can't speak highly enough of my 9 day Spanish experience. From the drivers, the hotel service and Rocio, who made time to check in how my trip was going.
My tour guide Delia in Sevilla was great company and her knowledge was fantastic. She really made me feel welcomed. I can't recommend her enough. Kudos to La Azotea on Calle Zaragoza, some great tapas!
Both Madrid and Barcelona were great urban escapes. My tour guide Sandra in Barcelona was an absolute joy. She was quite taken back by young I was compared to her usual tourists but this worked in my favour as I was taken off the beaten track! Like Delia, I can't recommend her enough.
Overall, the tour was top notch. Special thanks to James who really crafted a great itinerary. His correspondence was of the highest order. Cheers for taking the pressure of planning off my shoulders!
I've been to Spain several times and love this country so much. This time, I was taking my 74-year-old parents with me to Spain. It was their first time and I wanted them to have an amazing experience and fall in love with Spain as much as I did(…)
The entire trip was super smooth and Sam planned everything, especially the transportation that made the most differences. My parents are old and can't walk a lot. Sam planned private cars picking us up and dropping us off wherever we went and it was invaluable. The guided tours that Sam arranged for us were amazing as well, especially José in Seville. We learned so much about the culture and food in Andalusia and José made us felt like we were spending time with an old local friend!
Throughout the entire trip, Rocio stood by and ready to help whenever we needed something. The hotel room Sam booked for us in Granada has the view of Alhambra! And the hotel in Barcelona on our last day was right in the shopping district, perfect for us to do some last-minute shopping before heading back home.
I couldn't have planned it myself like this and my parents' experience in Spain would not have been the same without Sam's team.
I definitely recommend them if you ever find yourself heading out to Spain!
Muchas gracias
We all absolutely loved Spain, so much to see and do and amazing history.
The accommodation was excellent, all of the hotels had lots to offer and were small enough to still feel unique and personal. The guides and drivers we had in Spain were also wonderful, we connected with each of them and really enjoyed our time. We were also lucky enough to have our guide in Malaga meet us again in Ronda which was lovely.
Francisco was wonderful to deal with, really professional and everything ran perfectly. We ended up cancelling Toledo and having a free day in Madrid on 20th July which was exactly what we needed. Bill and I walked to El Retiro Park and around the Salamanca area. James and Sophie used electric scooters to look around then met us for lunch. They also had friends travelling in both Madrid and Barcelona that coincided with our stay so also managed to catch up with them. We are already talking about our next trip to Spain! In summary, we had a fantastic experience in Spain.
Tailormade Andalucia were brilliant to deal with and the accommodation, drivers and guides all excellent.

This was my first experience using a travel agency.
I am so glad we did! James was patient with me from the start. Kindly answering all of my questions and waiting for my husband to get on board! He sent over a great itinerary and worked with me when I found out I had the dates wrong as well 🙂
The itinerary was exactly what we asked for, some action, some down time and very family friendly as we traveled with our six year old.
I’m not sure what I was expecting upon arrival, but James and the team far exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival to our first hotel we received a package with what we referred to as our “vacation bible”. It’s was beautifully packaged with fans and a leather wallet. Our first tour was an artisans tour with Julia who was super sweet and filled us in on the history of Madrid.
James also arranged a day trip to Toledo. Our Toledo guide Enrique was genuine, hilarious and looked like Adam Sandler! He has lived there his entire life and was such a knowledgable and passionate guide! It was my favorite tour!
My favorite experience was Granada. The city is magical as well as the hotel and Alhambra. Our guide, Paco showed us a great time. If I had to choose another city to live in, it would be Granada!
Our train trips, tours, rental cars, hotels were all set up by the TMA team! Did I mention we had a Spanish liaison Rocio who went out of her way to check in with us at every stop to make sure we were enjoying ourselves!
We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation and it definitely wouldn't have been so smooth and easy without TMA! We are already ready to start planning our 2020 trip and will absolutely use this service again!
Thank you James, Rocio and the TMA Team

Our trip was to Barcelona and the Coasta Brava (staying in Calella de Palafrugell).
James planned a great itinerary for us! He asked the right questions to learn what we would enjoy and made great suggestions. Our favorite parts of the trip were things that we wouldn’t have done without his help in planning. (The more forgettable parts were the “must dos” that I found on lists and asked him to include!). In fact, it was James who suggested visiting the Coasta Brava and it was the perfect suggestion: we saw medieval towns, a vineyard that juxtaposed the old and new worlds (12th and 21st centuries), the world of Salvadore Dali, and the gorgeous coast.
We had great tour guides throughout (Gracia, Ariadna, Craig, Laia, Jose Luis, and Olga). They were all punctual and personable. They cared about our comfort (bringing water, etc.) and were willing to adjust the tours to our preferences. We loved having time to really talk to each guide and learn about the culture and people as well as the history. When we had meals included in our day, the restaurants selected were perfect: authentic, local, friendly, tasty.
Everything was seamless. Our transportation was arranged, tickets ready, etc. When there was a small error on our first day, James and our local assistant, Rocio, took care of it calmly and easily; they even apologized with a thoughtful surprise in our room despite the error not being theirs. Bad weather also required us to change plans as the last minute. After speaking with us, Rocio put together an itinerary that was better than we could have imagined! It turned out to be a highlight rather than a disappointment.
We got more out of our days by having guides. We had never done a vacation with private guides before and were pleasantly surprised by the small extras we enjoyed (learning to make tomato bread and tinto de verano at lunch (Jose Luis), eating fruit from the tree and fresh cheese from the cheese maker during a bike tour (Olga)).
This was easily one of the best, if not the best, vacation we’ve had. I’m so glad I took the gamble to work with TailormadeAndalucia. I look forward to doing so again! Thanks, James and Rocio!

We had a great time, overall the experience exceeded our expectation.
James was very professional throughout the preliminary and delivered a perfect package for us.

Hi both
I've filled in the survey although I'm not sure it'll be all that helpful because I rated everything as Excellent! You guys were amazing. The trip (everything about it) exceeded all our expectations - and I often have high expectations of holidays lol! I've shouted from the rafters to all who will listen at work, on social media and to friends/family about Tailormade Andalucia basically telling them they'd be crazy not to book a trip with you guys. For us, it was probably a once in a lifetime experience but some of our friends have more money and time on their hands (and no kids) so hopefully you'll get a few referrals, you certainly deserve it. My only wish is that you were experts in travel across the whole of Europe!!!
Thank you Sam for your incredible itinerary and patience in designing it, thank you Rocio for your prompt responses and support during our holiday and a huge shout out to Delia. She was incredible. Don't ever let her get away!!
This trip was two years in the making.
Sam's attention to our wishes and suggestions were always taken into account and he expanded upon them. From cooking classes to winery tours and our guides everything was above our expectations. This was a trip of a lifetime.
My granddaughter's grandmother came from Spain as a child and the family had never been back to Spain so for her to experience the flavor of Spain brought back many happy memories for her (especially the food). For myself I didn't want to worry about driving, guides, hotel accommodations. Everything was taken care of perfectly. Our rooms, hotels, castles everything was outstanding.
Sam and Rocio contact us several times to make sure everything was coming well. We celebrated my granddaughter birthday in Spain and when we got back from a day trip they had a bottle of champagne waiting for her. Memories of a lifetime were made on this trip and those memories would not have happen if not for the planning that Sam and his team did for us.
Anyone travelling to Spain shouold contact Tailormade Andalucia for a fantastic trip.
Sam was fantastic.
His communication was superb, he listened to our requests well and provided excellent experiences coordinated by reliable, on-time, friendly, competent and helpful drivers and guides.
He made us reservations at restaurants with unbelievable vistas - we couldn't believe our views in Granada and in Ronda - once-in-a-lifetime dining! Our guide in Seville was our favorite - Delia was kind, helpful, friendly, engaging and professional.
The bike ride she took us on was fabulous and tapas and Flamenco was delicious and captivating. The bull fight was an unforgettable experience and visiting the Bull farm on the same day was perfect timing. We loved all the towns we saw and enjoyed being in cities as well as the country side.
Overall an EXCELLENT trip and we will be recommending you to our friends as well as using this service again ourselves. FIVE STARS!!!
Over the last few years of going on holiday as a family we have been lucky enough to travel far and wide around the world. So when we decided to spend a week in Spain, there was a bit of anxiety that it wouldn’t be as diverse or exciting as further flung trips.
With the help and guidance of Sam and Tailormade Andalucia it couldn’t have been a more extraordinary or memorable trip for us all – we stayed in breathtakingly beautiful places we had never heard of, like the vast biodynamic farm, La Donaira, and did things we didn’t even know were possible. For example, a real highlight of Seville was being taken to the house and workshop of two renowned art restoration experts where we got an insight into how you take near destroyed, centuries-old canvases and sculptures and painstakingly restore them with a panoply of tools and tricks. They even showed us common ‘tells’ of a fake and the tricks people use to try to age the canvas.
The duo were hugely talented and very fun company too. This is just one example of the sort of once in a lifetime experience we would never have had without Sam and his team. Just like our personal tour of a bull-fighting farm where we had the chance to spent time with the breeder/matador. As a family, we were somewhat tentative before this one, thinking that maybe this wasn’t for us, but it was just fascinating – such an immersion in Spanish culture and insight into this matador’s dedication to his animals that we actually stayed there so long we nearly missed our tour of Ronda! It’s these sorts of experiences that made using Tailormade so worthwhile - things we would never have thought to do but have become really special memories for us all. What also really made the holiday as happy and relaxing as it was, was that every aspect of the week had clearly been meticulously planned so we didn’t once have to think about any logistics or timings. Every car was waiting for us to arrive, every tour guide was early and boundless with enthusiasm. Every hotel was as luxurious and original as we had hoped it would be.
Having come back from the trip now, one thing that really shines through was how quickly Sam and Tailormade totally grasped the sort of trip that we wanted to go on but then went that extra mile to push our boundaries and create a week that felt truly unique.

When we decided to vacation in Spain, the first thing we knew was that we did NOT want to be one of fifty tourists on a big bus, wearing headsets and struggling to keep up with a tour guide. While that might be a good idea for some, we wanted to be able to see the sites that are most interesting to us, and to have the freedom to set our own itinerary. Not knowing when, or if, we might return to Spain, we really wanted to be able to maximize our time there without running ourselves ragged. We also wanted to “get off the beaten path” a bit. We did quite a bit of research, and had a general plan of where and when we wanted to go. But organizing it all, including all the connections and finding good, local guides, was somewhat intimidating. And then we found Tailormade Andalucia.
From the beginning, Sam listened to our ideas. After our initial inquiry, and following a phone call to get a clearer idea of our wants, likes and needs, Sam put forth an itinerary for us to consider. It was a wonderful itinerary, but there were a few things that we didn’t really feel necessary for us. I admit, that I thought maybe we had contacted a travel company that caters only to the high end client. After discussing with Sam that, for instance, we did not want a private driver to transport us through the White Villages, we preferred to rent our own car, Sam revised the plan. We really appreciate how he listened to us and created an amazing vacation plan just for us. If you might be thinking that Tailormade Andalucia won’t work for you, we would tell you to reach out to them and see. Sam is a good listener and planner! He might just be able to help you have an amazing vacation in Spain too.
We also wanted to give an example of the support we had from TA while we were in Spain. On the day that we were to hike the Caminito del Rey, the weather forecast was bad. They were calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms, which would have closed the hiking trail. That morning, Fran called us at our hotel and asked what we wanted to do. He had a backup plan ready for us, if we wanted to back out. We decided to take our chances and go ahead. Even in route, we were getting weather updates from Fran and Sam. Luckily, the rain held off until after our hike. But, we were most thankful that Fran and Sam were watching out for us, and ready to switch gears at the last minute, if needed. We think they really care about their clients. And by the way, if you have a chance to hike the Caminito del Rey, DO IT! It was incredible.
There was nothing about our vacation that we did not like. Every hotel, tour guide, mode of transport and restaurant recommendation was spot on. We will most definitely use Tailormade Andalucia again for travel to Spain, and recommend them highly.

Dear Sam
I returned home last night after 2 days in London. I cannot thank you enough for all you did to make our trip such a success. Apart from the weather which was ‘variable’ it was pretty well perfect.
We enjoyed our hotels specially Hotel Las Casas de la Juderia in Córdoba which was truly luxurious with both showers & baths… We were very happy in Ladron de Agua but it was good to go there first as we were spoiled in Cordoba & might have been disappointed if it had been the other way round.
Our guides were excellent & the restaurants you chose offered delicious food & wine. To go through our programme. We loved our walk in the Albaycin & our dinner that night was memorable with the view of the floodlit Alhambra in the distance. The Alhambra needs no write up from me. It is so utterly beautiful & somehow so peaceful. We loved our guide! Our day in the Lecrin Valley was a bit of a washout but we managed to enjoy it. If it had to pour with rain that was the best day for it to do so. We all admired Scarlet & Chris & what they had done to make such an attractive finca. We were also interested in the story of bull fighting while others dried our trousers & learnt how to cook a Spanish meal. Thank you so much for joining us on this day & on our first dinner. It gave our whole trip such a good & friendly atmosphere. I was surprised how interested my group was in the oil tasting. It was an impressive set up & we all bought some delicious oil. We were rather late for our visit to the Hacienda de la Albaida but had a wonderful display of horsemanship while enjoying tapas & a glass (or 2) of delicious local wine. We then had an excellent lunch before going on our 4 x 4 ‘safari’ where we saw bulls, mares & foals all running wild. It was all rather amateur & charming. We felt like friends not paying clients. XX was a delightful guide. We were all amazed by the Mesquita. Vast but beautiful & very interesting. We also enjoyed wandering through the winding alleys of the Jewish quarter and the gardens of the Alcazar. Our dinner on the last night was a triumph. Delicious food & wine in a beautiful setting. We all went to bed very happy only to be woken by pouring rain & the news that our driver could not get to our bus. This must have been a nightmare for you but all was well & we easily caught our flight. Please thank our driver for driving us so well. We had hoped to give him a tip. So that is about it & thank you again for organising such a great tour for us. We were quite an ‘upmarket’ party consisting of an Ambassador, a General, a lobbyist & 5 landowners….! Despite our ages we had a wonderful time (with no accidents!). You planned a marvellous tour for us. Again thank you & James so much for all your care and attention.

Thanks for organising a brilliant holiday for us. It was the little things that touched us, you both contacted us during the trip, the package you supplied was the best we have had in a long time. All the hotels and trips were "estependo" they all had their own charm, beauty and character. The drivers and the guides were very pleasant and knowledgeable people. Places like the Alhambra and the Mizquita in Cordoba left lasting impressions on us as did a lot of places on the trip. When we saw the Grand Canyon at sunset many years ago we felt exactly the same. You cant describe them well enough in words you have to see them. Do you do other parts of Spain? Tailormade Andalucia seems very specific. We normally take a holiday in February or March each year. Looking for the good weather we have tended to go for the southern hemisphere which is getting too far to travel these days.
Once again thanks
Querido Sam gracias a Dios por el momento de serendipia que nos hizo descubrir a Mi querida España de nuevo y regalarme vistas rejuvenedoras de gentes y maneras de ser humanas casi olvidadas. Hello Sam
Thought it time we contacted you and Francisco to express our appreciation for planning our recent tour in Spain. Everything went like clockwork, (the exception being Richard's brief illness...!), the hotels were all lovely in different ways, the mix of visits & leisure, city & country were all ideal. I think your guides were wonderful...the personal contact with them and the locals they introduced us to added a very memorable dimension to out trip. Now back in NZ, the brain is still processing .....Many thanks for a great tour.
Please don't hesitate to be in touch if (or when) you come to N Z. We would love to have you stay if you wanted to spend time in the Marlborough Sounds!
Kind regards
The first thing to say is that we had a most wonderful time in Spain and Portugal.
We wanted to deal with a company that gets to know us and our tastes and we feel that tailormade Andalucía has stood out as a company that can help with that personal level of service and knowledge.
The quality of service from james@tailormadeandalucia.com has been exceptional. We felt very well looked after. James made us feel very special throughout the whole process and we really felt he cared and wasn’t trying to just get ‘another booking. At each new town we stopped James would call us personally to find out how we were. The itinerary worked very well and all the various arrangements you made clicked into place with no problems to us whatsoever. All the hotels were excellent, and we were very comfortable wherever we went. We are most grateful to you for taking such care over all the arrangements and we shall certainly put ourselves into your hands for our next holiday.
A truly wonderful trip. Thank you and we’ll be back!
Hi Sam,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you re our comments on the tour but as you know we are only just back in Australia.
We have filled out the review form and provide the following testimonial for you to post if you wish. Once again thank you and Francisco very much for all your efforts we had marvellous time and still dream about the people food and place of beautiful Spain.
We have just returned from travelling to Spain with https://www.tailormadeandalucia.com/ and cannot recommend them enough for their attention to detail support and their knowledge of wonderful Spain.
This is our second trip with Sam and his team having gone a few years ago and again they have provided an itinerary that is totally suited to our interests while dispersing the tour with unusual and quirky additions that were fabulous.
Our accomodation was excellent that also suited our brief and the locations were right in the middle of the old towns and close to all facilities and sights.
All the guides and drivers that were part of the tour were fully knowledgeable of their area of expertise and had personalities that suited us and our travel companions. Lots of laughs and fun!
We will be going back to Spain " and will of course be contacting Sam to arrange another marvellous trip. We have no hesitation in recommending them.
Muchas gracias

Dear Sam and Fran,
Many thanks to you both for structuring, planning and executing a terrific introduction to Andalucia. We felt as though we touched upon many of the highlights as well as a bit of the fabric of life in this part of Spain.
We enjoyed the accommodations, especially in Ronda, which ended up being everyone's favorite stop. We had a few travel mishaps along the way and both of you were seamless in your response to each one.
Who knew that airlines could have so many problems? We really appreciate all of your help when we arrived 18 hours late!
We felt as though we had a good blend of city and countryside and congratulate you on meeting the disparate needs of four travelers, all of whom had slightly different priorities. Your restaurant recommendations were exceptional, especially Campero which is a bit of a surprise all together, but a great one. For myself, I fell a little bit in love with Spain on this trip. As is always the case a traveller can only skim the very outer surface of things In a few weeks. But I am ready to come back and see what the next level reveals. When I do I will certainly be calling you to help set the trip up. Can hardly wait. Again, many thanks for all of your patience and professionalism. It was fun to travel with your company as our guide.
Un Abrazo,
Sharon Alexander
Hola Sam!
I’ve been in the travel business since 1972 and have worked with many European ground handlers. I can truthfully say that none have been as professional and caring as you have been with me and my recent group from the USA.
From the start over 1 year ago you knew how detailed I am about any tour that I put my name behind and host, and you worked with me step by step to produce and operate a program that was superb in every facet. The 2 tour guides (XX and XX) were amazing, the coaches were top class and the drivers the same. The hotels selected were perfect for my quirky wishes, and our Travel Club members loved each one. Timings were spot on – as were the local guides. And the manner in which you handled the issue of us missing our flight from Barcelona to Bilbao (caused by a huge delay on the highway because of a terrible accident) was truly remarkable.
Over the years I have hosted many groups through Spain – this one, thanks to you, ended up being our finest yet.
So, God willing, we’ll be back. And you can bet your life that I’ll be in touch with you again!
Muchas gracias!
Sam and Fran arranged our whole trip, covering internal flights, airport hotel transfers, hotels and a number of private tours, everything was incredibly well organized, on time and all of the personnel they used were very professional and helpful in every way. The guides were amazing and certainly gave us an insight into the localities and landmarks we visited. It really enhanced our experience and we felt we were visitors rather than tourists.
I would not hesitate to recommend Sam and his team to other travelers.
Hello Sam,
It seems quite a while ago since our wonderful holiday in Andalucia. I have filled in the survey and here goes with a brief testimonial:
I wanted to take my family to Andalucia to give them a taste of the spectacular culture and history of this place where Europe (just about) meets North Africa. From my first conversation with Sam at Tailormade Andalucia I knew that was definitely on the right track. He listened to the gist of what we wanted to do and he responded immediately with a bespoke proposed itinerary that perfectly captured what we had outlined, borne of his many years of experience in Andalucia. The holiday was wonderful, and it more than met our expectations. We saw the many facets of Andalucia from its own very particular history, its wonderful architecture and music, and of course, enjoyed some fabulous food. Sam managed to strike just the right balance between our cultural exploits and having enough time to relax and enjoy being together away from it all.
Every detail was thought through by Sam and the team, and despite or visiting six different locations, there were no hitches at all.
Tailormade Andalucia certainly lives up to its name: Highly personalised itinerary, great tour guides who really know their stuff, and we stayed in some great boutique hotels.
Mark Gregory
Tailormade Andalucia went above and beyond to understand our requirements and develop a unique and excellent itinerary for us including hotel selections.
Details were carefully attended to including the fabulous tour packet we received upon arrival at our first hotel. During our journey we requested two last minute changes which Sam accommodated immediately and without question.
The guides were all excellent, the transfer vehicles were great, and the drivers were prompt and friendly. I have nothing but praise and high recommendations for Tailormade Andalucia.
Thanks again to both you and Fran. If I'm ever in Spain again, I'll be in touch.
All the best and un abrazo fuerte!
Sandy Perretti
Hola Fran & Sam,
Thank you so much for puting together such a fantastic Itinerary for us to follow in Andalucia. Quite amazing, an experience that will be with us forever, we all just had so much fun. Your choice of hotels, drivers, guides, history, and culture was second to none.
It would be very hard to pick a highlight as everything seemed to be its own highlight, but being a livestock farmer in N.Z. our visit with Roberto in Ronda to the bull ring and getting to understand the customs etc. to do with bull fighting and then to go to the bull farm the next day, as luck had it , they were working young bulls in the yards which was a real treat to be able to talk with those involved.
a special thanks for the re schedule back to see the display at the Royal school of equestrian art, it was of particular interest to me as our family has a long history with horses. I hope the guides enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them, a real treat to have James for as long as we did, he was very good on a vast amount of subjects, as were Christopher and Scarlett, a treat to spent a day with them.
Thank you to all who made our trip such a memorable time, it could not have been better.

'We have just returned from a very interesting 5 days in Granada, Malaga & Ronda organised by Tailormade Andalucia. Sam made several useful suggestions & booked us into great hotels, suggested good restaurants & tapas bars. All added to a great experience.
We did not want to cram in too much in a few days, preferring quality to quantity.
After being met at the airport, & driven to Granada, we visited The Alhambra with an excellent private guide. Magnificent. Malaga 's Picasso museum didn't disappoint & the train trip to Ronda was relaxing & interesting. We shall return again to Seville & Cordoba. Of course, using the superb team at Tailormade'.

Hi Sam:
Thank you again for organising our recent cooking class and walking tour in Seville. From our introduction to your services to meeting with both Amelia and Jaime; the experience was both easy and amazing. The insight Amelia provided gave us a true local's understanding of the produce and technique for Andalucía food. Jaime also tailored our walk to exactly what we asked for and he even managed to help us locate the one of the nicest art shops. Again, I cannot thank you enough for helping make our honeymoon in Spain special.
Cheers!

To Whom it May Concern
This is to state that Tailormade Andalucia made all my travel arrangements including guides, restaurant & flamenco reservations, bullfight tickets, etc. during my May, 2017 stay in Spain & Portugal. Their service was meticulous & couldn’t be faulted. I’d highly recommend Tailormade Andalucia for your travel needs.
I cannot speak highly enough of the personal service offered by Tailormade.
As two women who were traveling alone, it was wonderful to be able to have personal guides to show us the best that Andalusia has to offer. I felt as though I was being guided by a longtime friend who seemed to know the particular things I liked, and wanted me to have the most enjoyable time possible. Sam and his team are special and I would recommend them to anyone traveling in this part of the world. Well done!
In June, my wife and I took our grandson to Spain. We hadn't been in years, and hadn't too much time (ten days), so we decided to confine the trip to Madrid, then through Andalucia south to Grenada. Given the limited time, we wanted to avoid having to do any planning once in Spain.
We hunted on line for an in-country travel agency with which we could work. We plan our own trips, and don't take group or package tours, so we look for people willing to spend time implementing our preferences and ideas, rather than trying to push us into their default options. In Tailormade Andalucia, we found Spain's answer to our requirements.
We encountered no difficulty in conveying our desires, and receiving suggestions consistent with our interests. We never had the feeling that our contacts at Tailormade Andalucia were driven by a desire to maximize their returns, rather than implement our wishes. There was no resistance when we fiddled with options and requested changes in the program.
From the moment we landed in Spain, until we left, there wasn't a single moment wasted on a missed connection. The trip proceeded seamlessly, with drivers and guides meeting us precisely on schedule, in Madrid and as we worked our way through Andalucia's "white villages," to Grenada. The hotels suggested by Tailormade Andalucia were as consistent with our preferences as those we'd selected on our own.
Special mention must go to Theresa, a marvelous guide for our walking tour of Madrid. Her passionate elaboration of the magic of the handful of paintings we had time to study at the Prado opened our grandson's eyes to the possibilities of great art as no docent we've ever encountered could have. Great credit also to James, our guide for part of the time we were in the white villages--his singular background and easy conversation made our day with him a pleasure on multiple levels.
Bottom line: Tailormade Andalucia is a thoroughly professional organization, and we'd use it again in a heartbeat.
We have just returned from an excellent trip to Andalucia, organised by Sam at Tailormade Andalucia.
We packed so much into our 2 week trip – wine and sherry tasting, city tours, flamenco, a bull farm and even a football match – but still arrived home relaxed, rested and invigorated.
We would never have been able to organise so much on our own and can thoroughly recommend the skills of this company, remaining friendly, approachable and patient at all times. The guides they provided were knowledgeable and interesting, each injecting their own personalities into our tours.
First class – thank you!

Sam, Fran and their collaborators at Tailormade Andalucía made us see what a fascinating country Spain is – and in particular Andalucia.
The service provided by Tailomade Andalucia was impeccable – great choice of hotels, very knowledgeable guides, and since the first contact, Sam paid attention to all the details, provided extensive information about the itinerary, and made as many changes as needed to make this a perfect trip.
We visited places we would never have imagined, off the beaten track, and at the same time could really learn about all the history and culture behind each tourist attraction. In fact, we felt not as tourists, but as special guests being taken around Andalucía by locals.
I would not think twice before calling Sam again if I ever consider going back to Spain!!

Hi, Sam -
We are back home now from a truly wonderful trip to Spain with Tailormade Andalucia. We loved our time in Spain and thank you for the very efficient and personal attention you gave us at every step of the way. From our first contact, you listened carefully to our likes and dislikes and put together a memorable itinerary. Along with outstanding lodging choices, your selection of guides was consistently excellent, as they brought it all alive for us. Our private drivers were polite and always on-time, and provided very comfortable transport. As for our activities, naturally we caught all the "must-see" things that every tourist sees, but what made the trip so special were the many additional activities you custom arranged for us that gave us a rare exposure to the unique beauty and culture of Andalucia. We had a truly engaging artisan tour in Madrid that took us into the world of some of the best crafts people in Spain, including visiting the shops and meeting with the makers of world-famous capes, hand-painted silk scarves, gorgeous leather goods, and guitars that have been used by everyone from Andres Segovia to the Beatles! Beyond that, we were treated to a private flamenco show, and made private visits to a bravo bull farm, olive mill, Sherry vineyard, and took a lovely hike through the countryside above the Alhambra. These were all memorable experiences for us, but the highlight activity was our visit to the art restoration studio - we are still talking about it. Jesus and Pablo were gracious hosts, and we got to not only hear about art restoration, but also see it in action and even take part! Thanks for suggesting and arranging it!
Thank you again for creating such an inspired itinerary for us. You created a true "insider's tour" for us, which most travelers don't have a chance to experience. We have already strongly recommended you and Tailormade Andalucia to friends considering a trip to Spain!
Sam, thank you for the amazing vacation that you and your team planned for us in Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz and Granada.
You took great care to understand our interests, time we had on vacation, kids ages etc., to plan an amazing trip that we will never forget. From the smallest of details, to the comfort that as non-Spanish speaking people, wherever we went, you had arranged an English speaking guide, who was a local and could give us an insider's view of the city and attractions.
The guides were very knowledgeable, and were able to handle the mix of having 2 adults and a 10 year old and 15 year old and make it interesting for everyone. This has been one of our best vacations ever. I need to mention that I had contacted another agency that comes up first when you perform a google search, and they were not willing to even plan a trip for us because of it was less than 10 days.
You guys took our requirements and planned the best trip we could have in that timeframe Wherever we went the tickets to attraction were pre-purchased and the guides were able to avoid long lines and take us through separate entrances. This saved us many hours which we could use to spend on the attractions.
In Seville, we lost a document bag that we forgot at the hotel and at no cost to us, you guys retrieved it and mailed it to us in the US. That was indicative of the excellent service not just for planned event but for unplanned situations.
Thanks again to you and the team from our whole family.
Recently my husband and I were fortunate to travel to South Spain.
We were recommended Tailormade Andalucia Tours by our local travel agent in New Zealand to help plan our tour. We found the company friendly, very professional to deal with and nothing was ever a problem to sort out to make our trip a fabulous adventure to remember. They went that extra mile!
On arrival to Spain, we received a package at our hotel containing a few treasures of Spain and a booklet of our travel plans. This was very detailed and easy to follow. Also a 'Welcoming"phone call by the local representative was very warming. Meeting Sam whom we had been dealing with planning our trip, was one of our highlights! He hosts a fabulous Tapas Tour!!
The tour guides provided on our tours were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
We would absolutley recommend Tailormade Andalucía and will certainly use them in the future if we ever visit Spain again.
“We used to think that ‘Guided holidays’ were for people who needed looking after. Not any more!
The five days we spent with Sam were brilliant. He definitely gets five stars for organisation, content, knowledge and charisma!
You see and learn so much more when a visit is planned andorganised for you, involving people with specialist and local knowledge to show you around. We can’t wait for the next one!"
Sam is a quick study!
His travel company was recommended by friends who loved his itinerary, but our lifestyle and interests were entirely different than our friends - but Sam listened carefully and nailed it perfectly.
We couldn't have been happier with the variety and insider touches that he provided.
We cannot recommend Sam Lister and Tailormade Andalucia highly enough! We have used him on two different trips to Spain and each time, the tours he arranged were the highlights of our trip! After our initial contact with Sam he actually called us and asked us questions to find out our interests. We ended up spending the day hiking in the beautiful countryside and touring an organic pig farm where they raised the pigs for the Iberian ham (not what we had contacted him about but way more up our alley!).
The day was fascinating and one of the most memorable of our trip! We were fortunate enough to return to Spain two years later and Sam was my first phone call! This time he recommended the art restoration tour for us and again, it was the most interesting afternoon, learning about a world we previously knew nothing about.
Sam also arranged drivers for us, a guide at the Alhambra, restaurant recommendations, hotel recommendations, etc. The drivers were prompt and courteous, the guides were knowledgeable and fun, the restaurants were amazing and the hotels were charming!
Sam takes the time to get to know his clients and he truly does "tailor make" the trip that is just right for them!
We have recommended him to several friends and they have all done different activities with Sam, and each one has come back and said those days were the best of their trip!
Whether you are looking for someone to plan one day or your whole trip, Sam is your guy! We only hope we return to Spain again soon so we can use his services again!
Hi Sam, What can I say? Not having been to Spain before I had visions of a quite different place - flat, hot, full of high rise hotels and lots of tourists. Well, the last part was true - far more Americans than I imagined. And it was hot which helped the lifestyle make more sense. But Andalucía was wonderful - endlessly interesting and much of it very beautiful. We want to come back! With better Spanish next time!
I will complete the survey but at the end of the week as I will be up to my ears in work. We really enjoyed our guides - all different, all knowledgeable, all very patient, all lots of fun. I shouldn't say so but we had a particularly good tour with Jaime in Seville as he knew so much about all the things we wanted to find out about. We're only sorry that we had such a short time with all our guides as the time went by incredibly quickly and it was hard to believe we'd been together for two or three hours.
I may be pre empting your survey questions (I haven't looked at them yet) - but all the accommodation was great except for the hotel in Seville - which wasn't bad at all but is undergoing some light renovation and the breakfast was somewhat underwhelming - think no fresh orange juice, very industrial pastries. I guess it just wasn't quite us - although the location was superb. Best hotel? - I loved the Lladron de agua but we had a particularly nice room as it had the only tree in the street outside and the staff - Sonia, the manager - was an absolute star, so helpful, so funny, she really made our stay there special. Best experience? So many.... swimming at La Cueva del Gato near Ronda, eating at the Molina del Arco, visiting Apicino, the feria at Malaga, understanding a bullfight, dancing in the Plaza de Espana at midnight in Vejer (just how long can a conga line be??), the sherry producer, the bull farm, the horses (next visit - I'd love to include some riding), the buildings, the tapas, the bars, los banos arabes, the beautiful beaches (but soooo windy at Tarifa). Disappointments? We couldn't see the dolmens at Antequera as we travelled on a Monday and the site is closed on Mondays. And I wonder if we might have got more out of our flamenco evening if we had had some information about flamenco - what it's about, styles, what we would be seeing.
What did we not do that, now that we know the area better, we would have liked to do? Birds and animals - it would have been good to get out into the countryside a little (wrong season, I know, too hot!!). Horse riding - didn't realise just what a horsey area it is. Olive production - would have liked to know more, visit a farm? Walking - looks like some interesting walks in the hills would be possible. More Spanish - we flapped our hands a bit and felt stupid but people seemed to understand - still we need to learn the language - a few days of intensive Spanish would be good. And most of all, knowing more about the people who live there - (but that's about meeting people and comes back to language). Oh, and the trains were fantastic - surely the best way to travel inter city. Clean, spacious, very very comfortable, fast, convenient, well labelled services, and the stations were such nice spaces compared to the grimy UK. The Spanish seem to have put together a very good high speed train network - much preferable to being squeezed into an Easyjet plane. Espana? - me encanta!
Very best wishes, Sheena Ashford
I can thoroughly recommend Sam Lister and Tailormade Andalucia. From my first contact with Sam to discuss a possible visit to Seville, I was impressed with his enthusiasm, his quick understanding of the type of holiday I was looking for and his exciting ideas for the trip.
On arrival in Seville, it soon became apparent that Sam was an excellent tour operator and guide. As well as seeing the traditional sites of Seville and Jerez, we were able to go ‘behind closed doors’ and meet artists, art restorers, flamenco dancers and musicians and learn about their work and see their beautiful homes. We were also able to gain an insight into Spanish life, its history and customs by spending a lot of time talking with Sam, either over a meal, or travelling to Jerez or walking through the streets of the Triana district. He introduced us, and indeed converted us, to Spanish white wine and sherry and eating in excellent restaurants, chosen by Sam, all added to the wonderful holiday.
We all hopeto return to Spain and experience another Tailormade Andalucia holiday.

Hi Sam and Fran,
We returned home safely.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much for coordinating our trip in an outstanding manner. We really appreciate, how you and your team, did such a wonderful job at every step of the way. There were too many highlights to single out a particular one.
Sam, thank you very much, from all of us, for meeting us at Triana and your gifts. That was extremely unprecedented and so thoughtful.
Fran, truly happy with your help in addressing any of our concerns promptly and your courteous approach. Missed your call at Casa 1800 because we were out partying. Thank you.
Art/Tapas trip and drive thru "white villages" with two James and Cordoba visit with Maria will remain memorable.
Somehow you guys transcended the visitor-tour operator relationship with your "think out of the box" approach.
We will explore how to work with you in the future - Portugal-Morocco?!!
Best

Thank you so much Sam for helping Spain come alive for us. We have enjoyed our 3 weeks here and it has lived up to all expectations and more. You have done a fantastic job. Good luck for the future.
Dear Sam,
Words are inadequate to express all of the delights that you have shared with us over the past 10 days. This was a wonderful experience and will be with us always!
Thank you!
First thanks for organising another great holiday (once again better than expected) We had a wonderful time. Sam Lister did a great job and kept in touch with me all the way through which was very reassuring.
He also met up with us on our last day in Seville. What a really nice young guy he is. Our drivers and guides were really good particularly BB ........ and what a laugh he was we had some very hilarious conversations...

We had such an amazing European trip it is hard to think of just one or two things to rate above all else. Spain was our favourite destination by a long margin. The guides in each city and town were exceptional and brought alive the traditions of Spanish life.
Etruscan Pleasures (Italia) Ltd and Sam from Tailormade Andalucia in Seville, designed our itinerary perfectly to our needs and our dreams came true. The itinerary was relaxing, informative and fun. We would highly recommend travellers to use their exceptional services they have accumulated after many years of experience as travel consultants

One can only say, how thrilled we were with our week in Spain, thanks to Sam Lister. Before leaving New Zealand, every “I” was dotted and “T” crossed. In organising our trip to the other side of the world, quick answers were a must.
The options regarding the tour planning, the choice of hotels to suit our budget from Barcelona to San Sebastion – absolutely faultless.
Our guide, Aner was an admirable host. Knowledgeable, courteous, patient and good company. Finally, one cannot fail to mention Sam’s parents – Jen and Al Lister. Our day with them on the Costa Brava was due to wind up mid afternoon. We were saying farewell more than two hours later and could have gone on. Just a wonderful day and looked after by a great couple.
The whole tour went exactly as planned, no problems and worth every cent. Based on our experience, totally recommended.
Hi Sam,
Just a quick note of thanks for your wonderful planning and guiding. We had a sensational vacation and will be sure to recommend your services to all of our friends. Thank you again!
As a young traveler, some 20 year ago, I decided to make my first trip to Europe with a tour group. After experiencing the inflexible schedule, the generic itinerary, and the impersonal guides, I swore then and there that I would never again partake in another tour group.
That was until I was confronted with the daunting task of organizing a trip to Spain with sixteen of my high school students. Having lived in Spain for three years and knowing my students’ likes and dislikes, I knew the typical student tour group would not offer the experience I wanted for my students. A close family friend suggested I contact Tailormade as they had created an “extraordinary” trip for he and his family in celebration of his 50th birthday.
From the initial phone call with Sam to the final farewell, Tailormade provided my students and I a professional and personalized experience as we explored Andalucía. My fear of tour groups was put to rest as we were introduced to the authentic culture of southern Spain by visiting amazing locations both on and off the beaten path. The students, the adult chaperones, and I, were genuinely engaged in every activity and location that Tailormade included in our customized itinerary. Sam and the other incredible guides were so personable, knowledgeable, and attentive, that everyone in our group viewed them as our new, foreign friends rather than simply our guides.
I have enthusiastically recommended Tailormade to both colleagues and friends and will continue to commission them for future trips with my students. At the same time, I too look forward to having Tailormade help me celebrate my 50th birthday in the “distant” future, by customizing a personal trip to Spain for my family and I.
Want to thank you, again, for your help and work in setting up our tours in the Andalucia region. They were all fantastic and the group enjoyed all the tour guides. We still are talking about our tapas and wine tour that you took us on. Again, many thanks and I would have no problem and would enjoy the opportunity to recommend you and your company to others touring the Andalucia area of Spain. Peace and blessings.

Tailormade Andalucia is a superb custom touring partner for Andalucia.
I have had the pleasure of partnering with Sam Lister for two small-group guided tours in this magical region of Spain and I can honestly say that Sam consistently exceeded my expectations, which are high! Andalucia is a region that is packed with relatively easy to access treasures, but also one that is packed with remarkable small restaurants, small-scale winemakers, food artisans, cultural artisans, off-the-radar shopping gems, historic sites and so much more that an ‘insider’ can find and share.
